Hello Mr Burns is a Simpsons podcast, and if you are reading this you probably know that there are more Simpsons-based podcasts out there than Homer’s professions and childhood dreams combined. We’re talking inside baseball here, people.

Luckily, Hello Mr Burns offers something a little different. Hosted by Perrie Kap, the weekly show is now into its second season of deep dives into the facts, history, and pop culture references that are crammed into each episode of The Simpsons.

Have you ever found yourself in the depths of Wikipedia after clicking link after link, reading about some obscure moment from pop culture, not quite sure how you got there..? This podcast feels a bit like someone doing that with Simpsons episodes each week and reporting back, with clips sprinkled over the top of this fact-finding delicious doughnut of a podcast.

Episodes are an extremely digestible 20 minutes on average, though on occasion time does seem to stretch and contract, a little like on those nights that lead you to strange new places in Wikipedia.

Perrie is charming and perfectly cromulent as a host, though an occasional guest could really kick…
