LeVar Burton Reads: Podcast Review

--

The Pitch:

The best short fiction, read by the best voice in podcasting.

The Product:

Look everyone, the past few months have been pretty fucking crazy. And I don’t know about you, but it’s brought some anxiety with it. So what better podcast to promote than what is essentially a bedtime story for anxious adults?

LeVar Burton is synonymous with reading and his dulcet tones can soothe your uneasy mind, 50 or so minutes at a time. In each episode he encourages you to ‘take a deep breath’ before enveloping yourself in some engaging short fiction.

The production is of course excellent. Soundscapes are sparingly, but cleverly used. The audio quality is crisp, and there is nothing here that will distract you from the process of getting lost in the story.

Honestly that’s kind of it. Find some new fiction or just take some time to get lost in thoughts that aren’t about the world ending or are just generally terrifying.

Can You Sleep To It?

Yes! That’s the point.

Recommended Episode:

Start at the start or just pick something from your favorite author.
