Stuff You Should Know Podcast Review

The Pitch:

Hosts Josh and Chuck research and discuss topics they find interesting.

The Product:

With 1000+ episodes, I don’t think I need to actually review this podcast — if you are a podcast fan then you know it already. However, I will be seeing the guys live later this month and it has been a staple in my library for years, so here goes.

The sheer amount of content can be intimidating if you haven’t dived into their catalogue, but fear not: they have something for everyone! Topics include champagne, satanism, the Stonewall Uprising, chaos theory, LSD, El Nino, true crime and Rosa Parks. And that’s scratching the surface.

Are they experts? Not exactly, but they do their research, are extremely affable and they really want to promote education. And they are always willing to ‘fess up when they get something wrong.

What they have created — besides a literal podcast empire — is a safe space for nerds, without pandering. Also, it’s pretty G-rated, so if teachers or parents out there want children to shut up for five minutes, it could be a good resource.
