Take Off Your Pants and Podcast Review

--

The Pitch:

Two dudes analyse, dissect, and over-think blink-182.

The Product:

Look, let me be Wendy Clear about this; in terms of demographics for this podcast, I’m an Easy Target. The hosts are two grown men who still love blink-182, and as I am also a grown man who loves Blink-182 it’s Obvious, but I’m Feeling This.

The podcast starts in 2016, with the guys discussing what would be the first post-Tom album, California. The format is pretty loose, and it should come as no surprise that as blink fans, they have a pretty self-deprecating sense of humour.

It’s pretty fun to listen to chronologically, as they talk through each new single in the lead up to the release, and also give their Point of View on the entire blink discography.

A podcast of this style is only as strong as the energy shared between the hosts and thankfully there’s a ‘Tom and Mark’ feel to the friendship in TOYPAP. At least, before Tom went off chasing space men and trying to prove Aliens Exist. There are some lengthy interludes between episodes, especially during blink downtimes, but it’s nice to see that the band consistently brings them together.

Will you get anything out of this podcast if you are not a fan of the band? Probably not, but…
